Sixer Training Course 2010

Dear Leaders,

Bedok District is organising the Sixer Training Course 2010 on behalf of the East Area. Details are spelled out in the course circular (P6 Programme). The application form (P7 Programme) and the Consent Form (P14 Programme) are attached for your perusal as well.

2          Do take note that the closing date is 17 April 2010 (Saturday). Please adhere to the deadline strictly. Any late submissions will be rejected. The course fee is set at SGD 45/- per participant. Each Pack is allowed a maximum of five participants for the course. Packs are to select their own nominees for the Sixer Training Course.

3          Do note that each participating Pack must have one leader (volunteer/teacher) to be part of the organising committee. This is to ensure full involvement of all to maximise the learning capacity of the participants. Packs who are not represented in the organising committee will be rejected. This is in line as per Area’s direction on all training courses whereby there must be one leader to be nominated as part of the organising committee. The requirements are to attend the required coordination meetings held by the Course Director and involved in the execution of the course directly.

East Area PLTC 2010

Dear Scouters,

I am pleased to announce that Katong District will be spear-heading the East Area Patrol Leaders' Training Course 2010.
As the Course Advisor, I will need to form up an organizing committee so that planning can commence.

As in line with the Area's policy, all participating troops must have at least ONE representative on the organizing committee.

The roles of the committee members, as well as the event's administrative details such as the date, venue and budget...etc will all be determined by the committee.

Thus, before calling for any meeting, I would like a nomination of representation from your troop with the following details:
- Name
- Appointment
- Troop
- Email
- Contact Number

I will be looking forward to a successfully planned PLTC for the benefit of our charges.

Thank you.

(Semi) Finalized District Calendar 2010

Dear All,

The allocation is done! I have attached a copy of the District Calendar 2010 for your perusal in your planning.

I apologize for the delay. Had to confirm a few last entries.

For the OICs, kindly take note that you will need to meet up/discuss (over email if meeting face to face is daunting) and inform me of the following information:
- Date of Event (very important so that we can CONFIRM the event)
- Venue of Event
- Objectives of Event (you may refer to the second attachment for reference, try to stick as close to it as possible, feel free to add your own if you wish)
- Estimated Expenditure (you may refer to the first attachment for information on district subsidy)
- Estimated Capacity
- Estimated Event Fee (Estimated Expenditure-District Subsidy/Estimated Capacity)

I will appreciate if all these administrative information can be sorted before 5 March. This will ensure that the circulars can be sent out in good time. Also, I will be going for a school overseas trip between 9 to 20 March (there goes my 1 week hols...haiz) so I hope to settle this issue before then.

Benefits of organizing this Course includes:
- A total of 3 additional FCSA points for yourself under "Adult Leader Involvement" (Section 3b)
- Being able to list this down in FCSA as part of your "Unit Initiative" (Section 3c)
- A total of (potentially) 80 FCSA points for your pack under "District Courses" (Section 5), seeing that it will be easier for everyone from your school to take part
- Potential additional points to be earned in FCSA as part of "Competitions" (Section 9), if you guys decide to include a competitive element
